BBC NEWS COVERAGE OF TERRORISM IN ISRAEL – NOVEMBER 2020

The Israel Security Agency’s report on terror attacks (Hebrew) during November 2020 shows that throughout the month a total of 83 incidents took place: 61 in Judea & Samaria, 19 in Jerusalem and inside the ‘green line’ and three in the Gaza Strip sector.

In Judea & Samaria and Jerusalem the agency recorded 60 attacks with petrol bombs, twelve attacks using pipe bombs, four arson attacks, one stabbing and three shooting attacks. In the Gaza Strip sector three separate incidents of rocket attacks were recorded.

No fatalities or injuries were reported throughout November.

A shooting attack carried out by a member of the Palestinian Authority security forces near Hawwara on November 4th did not receive any coverage on the BBC News website and the same applies to a stabbing attack near Hebron on November 8th. The discovery of IEDs near Ramallah on November 22nd was likewise ignored.

Rocket attacks launched from the Gaza Strip on November 15th and on November 21st were also not deemed newsworthy by the BBC.

Since the beginning of the year visitors to the BBC News website have seen coverage of 4.5% of the terror attacks against Israelis which actually took place and reporting of 50% of the resulting fatalities. Of 35 separate incidents of rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the year, the BBC has reported just six. Eight of the first eleven months of 2020 saw no BBC reporting on Palestinian terrorism at all.

  • The BBC World Service office in Jerusalem is not there to report news to the world. It is there to dissect news and filter out all incidents that show Israel in a good light and all incidents that show the PA in a bad light. Simples !

  • Indeed Grimey, certainly, I have never in the last 50 years seen a single positive broadcast, article or comment about Israel from the BBC and equally I have never seen a negative one from the BBC about the new kids on the block, invented in July 1964 the Palestinians. Prior to that date the only Palestinians were Jews i.e. the Palestine Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1936, all were Jews, the Palestine Football Team, founded in 1928 all again were Jews.

  • In your mind the only ones living there were people of the Jewish religion. If that was the case why were Rothschild and the newly formed Zionists early 1900s pushing UK for land. Also bring well off Jews out of Germany in 1939/40s and putting them into God’s promises land. By your reckoning it was full of Jews. So wrong, Arabs have lived there for hundreds of years. Contradict yourself also by Jews calling their club Palestine football team…….so there was a Palestine after all.
