Last month we documented inaccuracies in the BBC News website’s Palestinian territories timeline:
BBC’S PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES TIMELINE INACCURATE ON DATES OF ‘KEY EVENTS’
CAMERA UK contacted BBC Complaints with regard to those issues and on September 5th we were informed that it would take more time to address our complaint.
On September 22nd we received the following response:
“Thank you for getting in touch about our Palestinian territories – Timeline and please accept our apologies for the delay in our response.
You’re quite right and we have since removed these references from the timeline.
Please accept our apologies for these errors and thank you for taking the time and effort to make us aware of them.”
As noted previously, it would appear that those “errors” had been presented to BBC News website users for at least well over two years, thus once again raising questions concerning the standard of BBC fact-checking on even very straightforward issues.
