A Jan. 4 Daily Mail article on Danny Danon’s baseless accusation of antisemitism against actress Emma Watson included multiple errors – beginning in the headline and strap line:
However, “envoys” did not charge Watson with antisemitism, as the headline claims. The only one who leveled the accusation was Danny Danon, who is Israel former UN Ambassador. Moreover, since Gilead Erdan, Israel’s current UN Ambassador, though critical of Watson, didn’t accuse the actress of antisemitism, no “envoys” made the accusation.
The error is repeated in the opening sentence:

We complained to the Daily Mail under the terms of the Accuracy clause of the Editors’ Code of Practice, and our complaint was upheld.

The error was significant because by falsely characterising Danon – who currently has no position within the government, and is not even an MK – as the current ambassador, it imputed far greater significance to his unfair accusation than was warranted, and we’re glad Daily Mail editors set the record straight.
