On April 25th, we complained to editors at the Independent about an entry in their Israel-Hamas War live blog which included a misleading description of Israeli hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who recently appeared in a Hamas propaganda video.
As we noted to editors, the video in question clearly shows that the lower part of Polin’s arm was completely amputated – as the result of a Hamas grenade attack during the Nova Music Festival massacre. It wasn’t just “damaged”.
The blog entry was revised, and the relevant sentence now makes the extent of Polin’s injury clear.
