The Israel Security Agency’s report on terror attacks during October 2024 shows that throughout the month a total of 491 incidents took place in Judea & Samaria, Jerusalem and within the ‘green line’. The agency recorded 66 attacks with petrol bombs, 29 attacks using pipe bombs, three attack using IEDs, 338 incidents of rock throwing, twelve shooting attacks, 38 arson attacks, two stabbing attacks and three vehicular attacks.
91 attacks were thwarted throughout the month and 328 terror related arrests were made.
In addition, 76 missiles were launched into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip and 6,937 missiles were launched from Lebanon or Syria throughout October (compared to 1,307 in August and 2,756 in September). The ISA report does not include casualties from attacks related to Operation Swords of Iron or Operation Northern Arrows.
Eleven people were killed and 76 people were injured in attacks in Judea & Samaria, Jerusalem and inside the ‘green line’ during October.
On October 1st seven civilians were murdered and fifteen wounded in a combined shooting and stabbing attack in Yaffo (Jaffa). The BBC News website reported that incident but failed to identify the victims or to inform audiences that the attack was claimed by Hamas.
OMISSIONS IN BBC ACCOUNT OF TERROR ATTACK IN JAFFA
On October 6th a shooting attack took place at a branch of McDonald’s at the bus station in Be’er Sheva. A female member of the security forces was killed and eight people were wounded in what the BBC News website’s report on the incident still describes as a “suspected terror attack”.
One civilian was murdered and five wounded in a stabbing attack in Hadera on October 9th. That attack did not receive any coverage on the BBC News website.
A policeman was killed and four people were wounded in a shooting attack on Route 4 on October 15th. The only mention of that incident on the BBC News website came in two entries on a live page.
On October 27th one civilian was murdered and 32 wounded in a vehicular attack in Glilot. The BBC News website’s report on that incident does not identify the victim and has not been updated to clarify that it was indeed a terror attack.
BBC JERUSALEM BUREAU REPORTER DISCOVERS VEHICULAR TERROR ATTACKS
Visitors to the BBC News website did not see any coverage of an incident which took place on October 18th in which two members of the Israeli security forces were injured when terrorists claimed by the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan infiltrated the border near Neot HaKikar.
Throughout the first ten months of 2024, the BBC News website reported 0.45% of the terror attacks which took place and 71% of the resulting fatalities.
