Channel 4 News corrects erroneous headline

On May 14th, we complained to Channel 4 News about their report on an IDF attack on Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar and other terrorists who were reportedly meeting in an underground facility next to the European hospital in southern Gaza.

Here’s the original headline accompanying an interview by Matt Frei with Gaza doctor Tom Potokar, who volunteers at the hospital.

However, after watching the interview, it was clear that that incendiary headline, accusing the IDF of launching a drone attack on the hospital while doctors were operating on children, echoing the malicious libel promoted at the outlet previously that Israel targets kids in Gaza, was a complete lie.

First, there were no reportedly child casualties from the attack. Further, at no point during the interview did the doctor claim that a drone was responsible for the attack.  In fact, he said the opposite, noting that before the strike there wasn’t the sound of drones above.  Finally, he said that the strike occurred after he was finished operating.

Our complaint was upheld, and the headline changed.
