Daily Mail corrects photo caption calling Shani Louk a “soldier”

Late last week, the Daily Mail upheld our complaint about an Oct. 6th article which included the following photo caption erroneously referring to Shani Louk, a civilian abducted at the Nova Music Festival and murdered by terrorists, as a “soldier”.

The still shot of Louk, who was 23 when she was killed, was taken from a viral video circulated at the start of the war of her unconscious mangled, partially undressed body in the back of a pickup truck being paraded around Gaza by Hamas terrorists – amidst a crowd of cheering Palestinians.

It was later revealed that Louk was beheaded by the terrorist group.
