Previously we discussed an October 27th BBC News website report about the detention of a British citizen in the United States:
BBC NEWS WHITEWASHES BRITISH JOURNALIST’S OCTOBER 7 TERROR SUPPORT
As we noted at the time, while BBC News North America journalist Grace Eliza Goodwin promoted parts of a statement put out by the US organisation hosting that British journalist – CAIR – but had nothing to tell her readers about its record.
On November 11th the BBC News website published another report relating to the same story by the same journalist under the headline “British journalist to be freed from US immigration detention”. That article begins by linking to her previous report.
“British journalist Sami Hamdi is set to be released from US custody two weeks after he was detained by immigration enforcement, his family said on Monday.
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Hamdi, a media commentator and outspoken critic of Israel, last month while he was on a speaking tour in the US.
The State Department and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) alleged at the time that Hamdi supports terrorism and poses a threat to national security, while his lawyers have argued he was targeted for criticising Israel and its war in Gaza.”
Goodwin goes on:
“Hamdi was visiting the US to speak at events for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Muslim advocacy group, when ICE officers arrested him at the San Francisco International Airport on 26 October.” [emphasis added]
Over a quarter of the word-count of Goodwin’s report is given over to uncritical promotion of parts of one of the press releases on the topic put out by CAIR.
“Lawyers for Hamdi and the California chapter of CAIR said in a Monday statement that they welcome an agreement allowing Hamdi to voluntarily return to the UK instead of facing deportation.
They said he was targeted for speaking against “Israel’s war crimes against Palestinians”.
CAIR said that the immigration charging document filed in Hamdi’s case only accuses him of overstaying his visa, which the government revoked without notifying him first.
The organisation said the charging document does not identify “any criminal conduct or security grounds”, which it said was proof that Hamdi was never a danger to the community or to national security.
“It is this simple: Sami never should have spent a single night in an ICE cell. His only real ‘offense’ was speaking clearly about Israel’s genocidal war crimes against Palestinians,” Hussam Ayloush, the CEO of California’s CAIR chapter, said in the news release.”
As we see, even though she provided uncritical amplification to Hussam Ayloush’s ‘genocidal war crimes’ smear, Goodwin had nothing to tell her readers about his documented support for the October 7 massacre. Similarly, although she found fit to quote a social media post from Hamdi’s father in the final two paragraphs of her report, she avoided the context of his media and political activities.
Moreover, although she had over two weeks in which to conduct research since the appearance of her previous report, Goodwin once again failed to provide her readers with any information concerning Sami Hamdi’s repeatedly voiced support for the atrocities of October 7th and refrained from providing any relevant context concerning the “Muslim advocacy group” that she so generously quotes.
Here is some of the missing context that BBC audiences were denied:
With these two inadequate reports, the BBC has clearly demonstrated that it has no intention of providing its worldwide audiences with the full range of information needed to understand this story.

The BBC is the biggest promoter of Islamist propaganda in the western world. Time for everyone with any brains to refuse to pay them for the privilege of watching TV in the UK. Scrap the licence fee make it subscription only and see how long these tosspots survive.
