1) At WINEP, Michael Jacobson and Matthew Levitt propose ‘A More Effective Approach to Countering the Muslim Brotherhood’.
“In a 2015 report, the UK government accused the Muslim Brotherhood of “deliberately, wittingly and openly” incubating and sustaining Hamas, including facilitating its funding. The report also underscored the ongoing linkages among Hamas and Brotherhood branches and organizations throughout the Middle East.
Such ties are even more blatant since Hamas’s October 7 attack. In a September 2024 report, the Israeli government explained that Hamas has established a “network of activists and organizations” in Western Europe, many of which are tied to the Muslim Brotherhood. Indeed, the Hamas-Israel war has provided a treasure trove of information about various groups’ sanctionable activity.”
2) The ITIC documents how ‘Iran Assists Hezbollah’s Post-Ceasefire Reconstruction’.
“The United States Treasury Department reported that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) had transferred approximately $1 billion to Hezbollah since the beginning of the year to reconstruct the organization’s military capabilities in the wake of the war against Israel. Since the war ended in late November 2024, Iran has also continued to smuggle weapons to the organization and interfere with the Lebanese government’s efforts to disarm Hezbollah.
The fall of the Assad regime in Syria in December 2024 and the flight ban imposed by the Lebanese government on Iran since February 2025 disrupted the land and air routes used by Iran to transfer weapons, technological assistance and funds to Hezbollah. Iran and Hezbollah subsequently found other avenues, including smuggling through Turkey and Iraq, by sea and through currency-exchange agencies. They also continue to rely on smuggling networks along the Syria-Lebanon border, despite Syrian and IDF efforts to block them.”
3) At the INSS, Gallia Lindenstrauss explains why ‘Turkey Is Not Iran, but It Is a Threat’.
“In the Gaza Strip, the main tension between Israel and Turkey stems from Ankara’s position that Hamas remains a significant actor in postwar Gaza, even if only behind the scenes. Throughout the war, Israel opposed giving Turkey a significant role in the talks aimed at reaching a ceasefire, based on Israel’s recognition that Turkey, alongside Qatar, is one of Hamas’s supporters and that there was no indication of any reassessment in Ankara regarding its support for the organization following the October 7 massacre. On the contrary, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has declared repeatedly that Hamas is a “resistance” movement and not a terrorist organization.”
4) At the FDD Toby Dershowitz and Asher Boiskin ask ‘Does Al Jazeera Collaborate With Hamas?”.
“Al Jazeera sells its content to major wire services like AP and Reuters. Al Jazeera has resource-sharing agreements that allow outlets like CNN to access Al Jazeera’s footage and Al Jazeera to use CNN’s news feed. Al Jazeera also has arrangements with BBC, France 24, and The Guardian that enable them to use Al Jazeera’s video footage and reports. Other media outlets, including Deutsche Welle and Euronews, have direct syndication arrangements, allowing them to use Al Jazeera’s content without intermediaries.
Credible reports indicate that Al Jazeera’s ties to Hamas extend well beyond journalism. Evidence points to coordination between the Qatari network and Hamas terrorists, raising serious reputational and policy questions for Al Jazeera and for media or corporate partners that cooperate with it.”
5) Kasra Aarabi and Saeid Golkar go ‘Inside the mind of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard’.
“Imam Hossein University, the academic arm of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), recently convened its third ‘International Conference on the Decline of the United States’. Billed as an academic gathering, the event is in fact a ritual reaffirmation of a central article of faith within the Guard: that America’s era of dominance is over and that Iran’s Islamic Revolution stands among the forces hastening its fall.”
