The Washington Free Beacon recently published a report by Jon Levine highlighting entries in the style guide used by the Qatari media outlet Al Jazeera.
Some of those entries are particularly interesting due to their similarity to the instructions laid out in the BBC’s various style guides and/or editorial guidelines.

Back in November it was revealed that a senior BBC executive had boasted that the corporation’s Arabic service is “almost as trusted as Al Jazeera”.
The similarities between entries in the style guide used by the Hamas-supporting and terrorist employing Qatari government funded media outlet (which has been banned by several Arab countries) and those appearing in the BBC style guides certainly raise questions regarding the standards to which Britain’s national broadcaster apparently aspires.
