BBC corrects estimates of Iranian Jewish population

Readers will no doubt remember that we remarked here and here on the BBC’s claim – in two separate articles – of an Iranian Jewish population numbering 50,000 people more than the most generous of estimates.

BBC Watch reader ‘Funzarian’ contacted the BBC on that subject and the first article was amended as a result.

He then contacted the BBC again, securing the same correction in the second article.

A footnote marking the correction now appears at the bottom of both articles.
