BBC News corrects inaccurate account of Israeli president’s speech

Previously we documented the BBC’s misrepresentation of part of a speech given by Israel’s president at the opening of the new Holocaust museum in Amsterdam:

BBC NEWS MISREPRESENTS ISRAELI PRESIDENT’S SPEECH

As noted above, CAMERA UK contacted the BBC in order to request a correction.

The response we received includes the following:

“Thank you for getting in touch about the BBC News website.

You raise a fair point and we have amended the video to ensure that it no longer refers to “Jewish hostages”.

We have added a correction note on the standalone video and also the text article where the video was embedded.

Please accept our apologies for the error and thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.”
