BBC News website corrects Jerusalem “secular majority” claim

We previously noted here that two recent BBC reports – one written and one filmed – incorrectly informed BBC audiences that the city of Jerusalem has a “secular majority”.

Whilst BBC Watch of course commends that amendment, in the continued absence of a dedicated corrections page on the BBC News website it is highly unlikely that those who read the report during the two days between publication and correction would return to it and come across that footnote.

No similar footnote has been added to the filmed report, which also appears on the website, and it is unclear how viewers who watched that item on BBC television news programmes are to be informed of the inaccuracy – if at all.
