Financial Times corrects article suggesting Tel Aviv is Israel’s capital

On Jan. 14th, we complained to Financial Times editors about an article by their Middle East correspondent (“Israel launches air strikes against Iranian-linked targets in Syria”) erroneously suggested Tel Aviv was Israel’s capital.

Editors, citing an “editing error”, upheld our complaint, and the reference to Tel Aviv was removed.

Over the years, we have prompted corrections to this same false claim at nearly every major British media outlet.
