BBC NEWS COVERAGE OF TERRORISM IN ISRAEL – NOVEMBER 2021

The Israel Security Agency’s report on terror attacks (Hebrew) during November 2021 shows that throughout the month a total of 142 incidents took place: 100 in Judea & Samaria and 42 in Jerusalem and inside the ‘green line’. No attacks were recorded in the Gaza Strip sector.

In Judea & Samaria, Jerusalem and inside the ‘green line’ the agency recorded 107 attacks with petrol bombs, seven attacks using pipe bombs, two stabbing attacks, four shooting attacks and 22 arson attacks.

One civilian was killed and eight people were wounded in attacks throughout November. On November 17th two members of the security forces were wounded in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem. Although that attack was not reported on the BBC News website, we know that Jerusalem correspondent Tom Bateman was aware of it because he mentioned it four days later in a radio report.

The BBC News website reported a shooting attack in Jerusalem’s Old City on November 21st but erred on the number of people wounded. One person, Eli Kay, was murdered and four wounded (two civilians and two members of the security forces) in that attack but the headline to the BBC’s ‘permanent public record’ report still portrays the number of wounded as three.

Also on November 21st, a 67 year-old civilian was wounded in a stabbing attack in Yaffo (Jaffa) and a member of the security forces was injured by a petrol bomb in Jerusalem. Neither of those incidents was covered by the BBC.

In all, the BBC News website reported one terror attack against Israelis in November.
